Why is a DBS Check important?

A DBS check certificate (Police Clearance) is an official document that indicates that a person does not have any convictions to their name and is therefore authorised to work with minors.

Proving that you have a clean criminal record is a vital step for us to ensure a safe learning environment for our learners. It is the final vetting stage of becoming a tutor with Teach Me 2.

All tutors need to have an Enhanced DBS Check Certificate in order to work with minors (under 18) as per our Terms and Conditions. Having this Police Clearance helps give clients peace of mind and helps build trust. It can also greatly increase your chances of being selected for jobs.

Note: Once your tutoring profile has been made live, your DBS check Certificate will be available to download for your personal use under the tab “tutor clearance”.

How to get your clearance certificate

Get clearance via CareCheck:

We've set up an account with Carecheck, whom we liaise with to conduct the clearance check.

They organise Clearance Certificates within 10 - 14 days and their service has been amazing so far! Feedback from other tutors is that this is, by far, the most efficient process to follow :)

Follow these steps to organize your clearance:

1. Pay £49.50 to the Teach Me 2 account (below) via EFT.

Account Holder: Teach Me 2

Sort Code: 23-14-70

Account Number: 22522027

IBAN: GB12 TRWI 2314 7022 5220 27

Wise's Address: 56 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6JJ, United Kingdom

Please include your phone number as your reference

2. Email the Tutor Experience Team that has been assisting you with your application with your proof of payment. Once this has been paid, Carecheck will contact you directly to complete the check and ask for some details. Once you have completed the check, the Tutor Experience Team will be able to view the results online and you will also be notified via Carecheck of the outcome.

When we have verified that there is no indication of a criminal record, we will screenshot this and upload it to your profile. After that, we'll send you the final steps to get your profile live.

3. Please note that when you receive the email from Carecheck, you will need to fill out your application within 48 hours.

Email us if you want a copy for your records.

NB: Clearance is non-refundable, so please ensure that you are 100% committed to tutoring with us before making payment for it.
