Are you struggling to land jobs? Here are two simple ways that you can action to optimise your profile and increase your chances of being selected by clients!
π Your Profile Picture
In 2022, an audit was conducted by Teach Me 2, and we noted that clients tend to lean towards tutors who had professional-looking photos on their profiles. This is one of the first things that clients notice when sifting through possible candidates.
What Makes a Great Profile Picture?
The photo should be of your head and shoulders only
You should be neatly dressed and presentable (ensure that your hair isn't covering your eyes)
There is a neutral background behind you (try and avoid editing and remember - less is more!) π
Ensure that you are smiling - this shows confidence and conveys friendliness to your clients
Here is an example of a great profile picture - this is what you should aim for:
π Your Profile Video
Once you have a well-presented profile picture, the second thing clients will view is your video. The purpose of this is to establish whether you are clear, well-spoken and confident. This aspect plays a pivotal role in landing jobs - and itβs rather simple to perfect! π
Here Are a Few Tips to Help You Create a Quality Profile Video:
Ensure you are well-dressed/presentable and that your hair is not covering your eyes
Speak clearly and fluently
Check that the audio of your video is clear
Try and stick to the recommended 60 seconds
Ensure the background is not distracting
Speak with confidence and a smile - a happy face is always encouraged! π
Introduce yourself and touch on what you are currently doing, what has equipped you to be a fantastic tutor, and why are you excited to be a part of the Teach Me 2 team
Please avoid reading off a script as eye contact is extremely important when creating a video - it also relays a message that you are confident
If your profile needs updating, please send your new profile picture and/or profile video to the Tutor Experience Team (tutor@teachme2.com) so they can assist you in uploading them to your profile! Please also reach out if you have any other questionsπ
Happy Tutoring!
